"CR, collect the assignment copies from everyone and bring them to my office," Professor Reet Bajaj ordered Vaishnavi, the Class Representative of the third-year batch. Glancing sternly around the room, she added, "Also, note down the IDs of students who didn't submit. For next week’s internals, whatever their score is, a -5 penalty will be applied to their official marks. Everyone should prepare well; at least ensure nobody scores in the negative."
The color visibly drained from Kritika’s face at the announcement. She had no inkling an assignment even existed, let alone that it was due today. The looming -5 weighed on her heavily. She had done absolutely no preparation for the upcoming exams, and if she failed to secure a decent score out of 15, there was a terrifyingly high chance of her final grade slipping into the negatives.
